Word Of The Week...

The American/English word of the week is:

 JOINT

A true dialogue between my mum, (in her proper English accent of course), and the grocery store employee during one of our first trips to an American grocery store:

Mum:  Oh hello, can you tell me where I can buy a joint please?

Grocery Store Employee:  (Insert chirping crickets here.)

An American Joint...

An English Joint...

You should start a book with all these unique English sayings of your mums. I was laughing out loud. Keep them coming.

that's too funny! My husband and I travelled to England 10 years ago, met up with some nice British people for dinner and spent hours laughing over the differences in meaning for words-one of my favorites was "fanny pack"

Your mother is so funny (and most of the time it is exactly what she means to be).
