Seeing the cup half full...

Mike has had a rough couple of weeks with his knee injury. (BTW, this mom thinks that dads that want their sons to play football should be the ones to take them to all the doctors appointments when they get injured... just sayin'!)

Anyway, despite not being able to do all the things he is used to, (walking in general for the first few days, playing outside, jumping on the tramp, running around the neighborhood, playing football etc., etc.), we were able to find one thing he enjoyed thoroughly:

Thanks to everyone who has kept him in their prayers. The good news is that he hasn't torn his ACL as they originally thought he might have. He has "Patellar Tendinitis" which is also known as jumpers knee. They have given him a new brace which basically becomes part of his skin flexing with his muscles while keeping the inflammation down. Much to his dads delight, (and his moms chagrin), he is allowed to return to football as the pain allows. Hopefully they will both be smart about this one. :)

Does anyone else have a problem with
ordering a burger called a "fat boy"?

I guess at least they can't be cited for false advertising!

Look what was hanging above my front door today...

I am glad Miss Dee is completely paranoid about everything including walking through doors... I would never have looked up and seen this if she hadn't been with me:

That is a genuine female black widow spider. (Well it was!) I used half a gallon of bug spray to kill that sucker. That dang thing just WOULD NOT DIE!!!!

Gotta love living in Utah in the hills. :)

Some of my favorite people...

Last week our youth had the opportunity to go and do baptisms for the first time in our new temple... The Oquirrh Mountain Temple (which was just dedicated on August 21st-23rd). I was so excited to see 11 of them show up... That is the most youth we have EVER had go to the temple on one night. (Aren't they a great looking bunch of kids?) It was one of the BEST experiences I have ever had with the youth in the temple in my whole life. (It probably didn't hurt that my hubby and two kids were both there too!) I couldn't help feeling elated the whole time we were there and for many days afterwards.

I am so grateful for temples and the eternal blessings they offer to families. If you want to learn more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the blessings the gospel can bring to your family, please visit mormon.org. :)
